The Hartley-Bonito Family

We are a normal, average family who live in Hampshire, England, along with our four cats. We never intended to have so many, but have kind of adopted them along the way. In October 2008, we waved goodbye to our daughter Sam, and her fiancé Giles who begain their travels, one thing that really touched our hearts was reading about Chres Orphanage in Cambodia, where Sam was able to work for a while.

In April 2008 we started our world trip with open end – and are still on the move. But we don’t want to just travel the world, we also want to make a contribution and help where help is needed. Last year in October 2008 we arrived in Siem Reap, visited the Chres Village School and Orphanage and immediately fell in love with the children and the family who takes care of them all. We knew we had found a good place that really needs help and where we wanted and could help.

I came upon the Chres Village orphanage and school during a motorbike tour.
Touched by how grateful the children were to visitors and volunteers, I decided to become a registered fundraiser for Sustainable Organisation for Community Peasants, Labourers, Students Development and Orphans. The position was approved by the Ministry of Interior and Siem Reap Governor, Cambodia, on May 23 this year.
